How to make a Negroni
How to make a Negroni
The Classic Italian Cocktail
This is surely the Italian cocktail par excellence. Founded when Count Camillo Negroni once requested that a bartender at Bar Casoni in Florence, Italy, "fix" his typical Americano, which consists of Campari, sweet red vermouth, club soda, and garnished with lemon, by making it stronger. The first Negroni was then born when the bartender switched club soda for gin and lemon for orange! Its flavour is a splendid fusion of sweetness, spiciness, and bitterness, giving it a particular kind of “strength”, considered to be a reflection of the Italian character. Anybody who is passionate about colour will find it also really hits the spot in that department and looks even better in a Daisy B Double Old Fashioned Tumbler from William Yeoward Crystal!
